Warm lights at blue hour

When I was fairly new to photography, like most people, golden hour was the time I would get excited to shoot. I never stayed back long enough to explore what happens after the golden light goes away. The assumption was that it becomes dark, but it took me a while to realise that between the golden hour and darkness, there is a short window in which the sky turns deep blue. With that background, warm lights shine like diamonds. Scanning through my gallery, I realised that my fondness for capturing blue hour is not new but fairly old. I found photographs from past years where I have shot warm lights at blue hour.

Committing myself to create a rich body of work documenting warm lights at blue hour, these photographs are from across the country — Himachal, Rajasthan, Coimbatore, Maharashtra, and even Bali and Sri Lanka.

For years, I wanted to commit myself to a photography project, but nothing seemed to fit. In hindsight, I am realising that I just needed to look at my past photographs; there were clues all along!
